Brief History

The Healthy Jeffco Alliance is a collaborative, cross-sector partnership committed to a connected, thriving community where health and opportunity are possible for all. It facilitates conversation, connection and collaboration across the community while embodying a culture of humility - constantly striving to be more inclusive in who it is, and how it operates.

The Alliance emerged from the Jefferson County Hotspotting Alliance, which was formed in 2013 to serve people with co-morbid, chronic health issues who were over-utilizing the Emergency Department (ED).

With a grant from the Community First Foundation in 2019, the Healthy Jeffco Alliance, with coaching from The Civic Canopy, worked with community members and organizations to define its vision and focus areas - fostering connection and strengthening collaboration.

In 2020, a group of over 100 community members and organizations came together to determine five strategies that could foster connection and strengthen collaboration.  These are now the Alliance’s program priorities. In 2021, the Alliance was awarded a multi-year grant from the Community First Foundation to implement its strategies and strengthen its partnership and changed its name from the Jefferson County Health Alliance to the Healthy Jeffco Alliance to reflect its community-based approach to improving health and wellness across the lifespan.
